Ollie by: Danny W.

The Ollie is one of the most basic tricks. You will need to know how to Ollie to do most every trick. What an Ollie is exactly is to jump on a skateboard and take the board with you.

The Setup: Have your back foot on the tail and have your front foot toward the middle of the board maybe close to the front bolts.

The Movement: Ok Ollie's are 100% movement precision, this is why I can guarantee this trick won't be landed first try.

It's nice to get a push or two so your moving at a decent speed, go slow at first and add speed as you get better.

What you want to do is start rolling, once you get rolling it's always good to look in front of you and pick a spot where you are going to Ollie. (Nothing has to be there, could be a crack or anything..) Once your rolling and almost get to the spot that you want to Ollie pop the tail of your board (Push your back foot into the tail until it hits the cement.) Once the tail hits the cement the fun part begins..draging your foot you need to drag your front foot all the way until the front bolts as fast as you can as soon as you pop the board. If you did this correctly you should be in the air with your board below you. Land and roll away. Like I said before do not expect to land this first shot. I haven't heard of anyone doing that...

Problems: Most of the problems that happen when you go to Ollie is all part of dragging, you need to drag your front foot as soon as your back foot hits the ground then lift up your back foot as your front foot slides forward. That's the major problem with most people.
Good Luck!

I will get a video up as soon as I can.
